By creating an account or using BrightStead Tutoring, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. The service
BrightStead Tutoring provides online English learning resources, events, and tutoring-related content. We strive to provide quality materials but make no guarantee of specific learning outcomes.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By ticking the agreement checkbox during signup you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and that the information you provide is accurate. If we determine that you do not meet the age requirement, we may suspend or terminate your account.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials
- You agree to verify your email address when requested
- You are responsible for all activity under your account
- Do not share your account with others
- You may delete your account at any time from your profile page; deletion is permanent
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Misuse the service or interfere with its operation
- Attempt unauthorised access to other accounts or systems
- Upload malicious code, spam, or illegal content
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute site content without permission
- Impersonate others or provide false information
5. Intellectual property
All content on this site — articles, resources, design, logos — is the property of BrightStead Tutoring unless otherwise stated, and is protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
6. Third-party content and links
The site may embed or link to third-party services (such as Google Calendar). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of third-party services.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our discretion and without prior notice where appropriate. You can terminate your account at any time via the Delete my account action on your profile page.
8. Disclaimer
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law and applicable EU consumer protection laws.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BrightStead Tutoring is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, gross negligence, or rights that cannot be limited by contract.
10. Changes to the terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a site notice. Continued use after changes means acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. For EU/EEA users, mandatory consumer protection rights of your country of residence remain unaffected.
